Appleton, WI – June 06, 2006,  mPower Innovations, the developer of mPower Integrator™, announces that Sioux County Iowa, is using mPower Integrator with ESRI® ArcIMS® to develop their Web GIS applications.

Sioux County, located in the northwest corner of Iowa, was formally organized on January 20, 1860. Its name is in honor of the Sioux Indian tribe, which was once prosperous in the area. Sioux means 'Snakes' or 'Little Snakes'.

In the spring of 2005 the county was contemplating how to develop their ArcIMS.  Consulting services were too expensive, and doing it themselves was not practical either, given limited budgets and staff time available. Micah Van Maanen, the IT Director for Sioux County, had seen what Plymouth County,  their neighbor to the South, was doing with a product called mPower Integrator, and thought it might be what they needed.

"mPower Integrator  allowed us to develop our ArcIMS web GIS ourselves", states Micah Van Maanen. We quickly built a website that utilizes queries and reports on our assessor data.  For example, Orange City is using our public website for their parcel look-ups.”
